Registration

Online registration to attend the annual meeting is required.

Registration is required but no registration fee is due if you plan to attend only the two keynote lectures and/or Friday’s afternoon invited plenary session. These events are free and open to the public.

The registration fee is mandatory for the regular program speakers and moderators.

For all paying registrants, the registration fee includes admission to the conference, name badge, conference materials, and Wednesday evening’s welcoming reception.

Please note that SIP does not require any fee to join the society so the registration fee is essential to support the cost of organizing the annual conference.

An optional dinner for program speakers and moderators (and their guests) at a local restaurant is planned for Thursday evening, June 18 with a separate fee (advance reservation required; you may select this option during the registration process). The dinner location will be announced at the conference.

Regular Registration closes April 30, 2026.

Registration Details

  • University of Edinburgh Student/Faculty (auditing): no fee, registration only

  • Non-University of Edinburgh Faculty/Independent Scholar/General Public (auditing): US $50

  • Doctoral/Post-Doctoral Student (presenting/moderating): US $100

  • Faculty (presenting/moderating): US $150

  • Plenary session(s) only: no fee, registration only

Thursday's evening dinner: US $65

After April 30, the following Late Registration Fees will apply (online registration only; no registration possible at the conference site):

  • University of Edinburgh Student/Faculty (auditing): no fee, registration only

  • Non-University of Edinburgh Faculty/Independent Scholar/General Public (auditing): US $80

  • Doctoral/Post-Doctoral Student (presenting/moderating): US $130

  • Faculty (presenting/moderating): US $180

  • Plenary session(s) only: no fee, registration only

Please note that, once paid, registration fees will not be refunded in case of subsequent inability to attend the conference. SIP is a small, non-profit philosophical society that does not ask for any membership fee to be part of the association. The registration fee is essential to support the various aspects of running the conference (reception, keynote speakers’ honoraria and travel arrangements, promotional material, etc.), the planning of and commitment to which is dependent on this fee. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note—SIP welcomes attendees who are neither presenting nor moderating a paper. The registration procedure apply to both presenters (including moderators) and non-presenters alike. So non-presenters should follow the same registration procedure as actual presenters/moderators.

If, as a presenter or a moderator, you are accompanied by a person who wishes to attend the conference as audience, please make sure to register your guest separately (so that we can also adequately plan amenities for them) and to include his/her/their registration fee, if due, as a separate payment.
